My latest holds came in

Yesterday at work, I noticed my two new CD holds came in: Broken Social Scene (self-titled) and Jens Lekman (Oh You’re So Silent, Jens). I had out the Lekman CD months ago. I heard Black Cab on the radio and it reminded me to check this CD out again. If you start with a Lekman CD, I highly recommend Night Falls over Kortedala, esp. the track A Postcard to Nina. This one I own and can listen to any old time. As for the Broken Social Scene, it has members of the Canadian band Stars as well as everyone’s favorite iTune goddess Feist. That will be dinner listening music (which is almost ready).
Last night we watched There will be Blood, the latest from Boogie Nights director Paul Thomas Anderson. I scored this DVD on release day but wasn’t quite sure we’d have time to watch a very long movie. But alas, we did and it was good. Don’t expect Rollar Girl or frogs flying from the sky. But do expect a wonderful, crazy performance from Daniel Day-Lewis. Oh, and Radiohead connection: Jonny Greenwood did the soundtrack.
